very activity unveils a philosophy from beneath. Philosophy answers the
"why" of things with a presupposition that everything that exists, has a sufficient
reason for its existence.
The same is true with our
website, the Immaculate Mediatrix On-line. As
everything tangible can be explained by way of four causes, so is this Marian site.
First, the material element which makes use of modern means of communication of the
Internet. This is St. Maximilian Kolbe's vision, the saint of our Difficult Age--to use
every licit means for the Immaculate. Nothing is so based that can not be elevated. But
the same saint looked toward the use of modern means of communication as a powerful
instrument in spreading love and devotion to the Immaculate.
Secondly, every material element is determined by a specific form. Modern means of
communications would only be a crash source of data and information if not determined by
the very purpose of its creation--spread of truth and goodness. This Marian site is
specifically determined to spread knowledge and love of the Immaculate. Because of this
principle, the site focuses on Marian-Franciscan materials and information. This is
its unique identity -- per causam Immaculatae.
Thirdly, behind the work of this site is the hands of the Immaculate who efficiently
operate in the salvation and sanctification of souls. The greater is the active agent, the
more efficacious and fruitful is the work. It is a law in communication that the agent
transmit its goodness to its works. Though being maintained by the Franciscan Friars of
the Immaculate in U.S.A., they are just instruments in the hands of the principal
efficient cause-- the Immaculate.
Finally, any agent acts for an end. Our Lady works through this little site in order
that the Kingdom of the Most Sacred Heart of her Son be extended to all the world. This
can be done, according to St. Maximilian Kolbe, in the surest, easiest and quickest way by
means of total consecration to the Immaculate. Thus, we repeat the whole purpose of
our existence in the cyberspace...
Bringing the Immaculate to the world....
that the world may be brought back to God."
