The document clarifies the role of the non-ordained faithful in the work of the ordained ministers of the Catholic Church. It reiterates clearly the theological and practical principles of sacred ministries. In addition, it defines the complementary but essentially distinctive character of the ministries of the ordained ministers and non-ordained faithful.
