"The heart of our good mother Mary is all love
and mercy. She desires nothing else but our happiness. We need only have recourse to Her
and we will be heard."
-St.
John Mary Vianney |
MIM in the specific sense is a public
association of the faithful, canonically approved by the Archbishop Metropolitan of
Benevento on the feast of the Epiphany, 1991, whereby the faithful of both sexes, priests
and religious as well, might support and share the Franciscan-Marian charism of the
Franciscans of the Immaculate.
The local unit of the
MIM, under the patronage
of a Saint, is called a CENACLE, generally organized for homogeneous groups: adults and
families; youth (ages 15-25); children (ages 7-14). But whatever the character of the
group every cenacle and every member of the MIM is committed to cooperate in the very
mission of the Immaculate Mediatrix, namely, of conquering the entire world for the
Kingdom of Christ. In the words of St. Maximilian they are to bring all men "to the
Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate".
For this reason the Immaculate Conception and
the universal Mediation of Mary are two truths underpinning the spirituality of the
MIM.
The first must be incorporated into the life of each member as it is into the very
structure of the cenacles: via personal holiness in imitation of and union with the
Immaculate as she is united with the Holy Spirit. Then this is expressed practically as a
manifestation of the universal Mediation of Mary as Coredemptrix and Distributrix of all
graces: via missionary zeal and activity whereby Christ is born in the minds and hearts of
the faithful through the Virgin's maternal mediation.
